The Journey With His Majesty Cat Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela the Cat β named after the South African legend because of his peaceful, wise, social and endlessly forgiving nature β travelled with me like a true elderly statesman. π»πββ¬ First time outside our Finnish town, first time at airport, flying in a plane. Such a brave old gentleman cat who I love deeply. Even my Italian boyfriend is jealous of this wise old cat.
Tuscany seems to have magical anti-aging properties for my cat: his fur shines more than ever, his eyes sparkle, and he spends his days observing the green garden, local dogs, and Italian cats free around the streets and gardens.
Are there maybe other cat lovers around ?

Starting Over in Italy ππ€β€οΈ
So here I am, born in Finland, finding job for example as a professional teacher (languages and cross-cultural communications, international business, English, German, Finnish). I am also open for international/local projects, importβexport roles, cultural consulting, and multinational teamwork. Iβve worked internationally, lived also in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands in the 1990Β΄s, understand cultural differences well (by the way my mother is Polish, father Finnish). I have some personal experience on Thailand and China too. And boyfriend is Southern-Italian, a real Pugliese.
If you are looking for someone internationally and global-minded, adaptable, and slightly adventurousβ¦ well, I just moved from the North to South with an elderly cat, found an adoptive family for the other cat in Finland. So my adaptability skills are proven.πββ¬π
The New Life in Chianti hills of Tuscany
Now I live in the Chianti wine hills south of Florence, where the wine is excellent, the olive trees look like silver in the sun, the landscape is like a postcard, though my life is not.
Nelson naps like a retired king, (un re).
I job-hunt with hope and try to network with people, locals and internationals. And I am learning to cook Italian food and I try to understand the importance of the eating times in Italy. My South-Italian boyfriends tries to understand cultural differences too.
This is just the beginning of the adventure, and Iβd love to take you with me.
Little road close to my Tuscan home. Here I meet always lovely cats.
π» About Me β Ursula, also known as Finndolce
Iβm Ursula, a divorced, middle-aged Finnish woman who decided that life is far too short to stay stuck in a chapter that no longer fits. After many difficult years, menopause and lost even twice my work and income, I chose to rewrite my story, with courage, humor, and few suitcases.
Some people collect shoes.
I collect languages, new cultures, new people, and unforgettable mistakes that turn into great stories.I believe in risk-taking when the heart says go, in starting again at any age, and in trusting that even after the hardest seasons, life can become sweet again β dolce, as Italians say. My Italian boyfriend tries to open my eyes how hard life can be in Italy!
